France Football are reporting that Chelsea are stalling on finalising the transfer of the France international because of his knee problems.
The 22-year-old midfielder has also been linked with Manchester United after a stunning breakthrough campaign with Monaco, helping them capture the Ligue 1 title.
Chelsea have a deal agreed for the £35m transfer of Bakayoko, but they’re being put off completing the deal at the moment because of some underlying knee problems that could plague Bakayoko down the line.
Antonio Conte wants to add to his midfield options but the Blues will need to do their research on the former Rennes standout to see if these knee issues have significant long-term complicaions before finalising the transfer.
