Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is looking to add Italian Under 19 coach Paolo Vanoli to his backroom staff, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
Vanoli, 44, was a left back as a player, and has been working with his national side at Under 17s, Under 18s and Under 19s level. Vanoli, who played for Scottish side Rangers in the 2003/04 season, is said to be thought of very highly in Italy after successfully making the change from player into coaching when he retired ten years ago.
Conte is preparing for his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge and looks set to ring the changes around the club both on and off the pitch this summer.
David Mazzotta is also thought to be on his way to Stamford Bridge. Vanoli could follow him to fill the void left by Steve Holland.
With the departure of club captain John Terry and imminent departure of striker Diego Costa, along with an expected number of incomings, it looks like Conte is really knuckling down ahead of his side’s title defence this season, with Conte hoping Vanoli can add something different to his coaching team.
