Chelsea aren’t wasting any time feeling sorry for themselves after Manchester United pipped them to Romelu Lukaku.
Antonio Conte still wants to add a world-class striker to his squad with Diego Costa likely to leave this summer, and Marca are reporting that the Blues have already opened talks with Borussia Dortmund over a club-record £62m move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Last season’s Bundesliga top scorer with 31 goals is believed to be eager to leave Dortmund this summer to complete a lucrative transfer and saw a move to PSG fall through last month, while talk of a switch to China has gone cold.
Aubameyang, 28, netted 40 goals in all competitions last season and has a reputation as one of the best strikers in European football today and would be a welcome addition to the squad.
The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been credited with interest in the former AC Milan striker, but it appears as if Chelsea are working hard to strike a deal after missing out on Lukaku.
