As Chelsea prepare to jet off to the Far East as part of their pre-season preparations, they’ll be doing so with two of their key performers from last season’s successes.

The Guardian and Sky Sports are reporting that both striker Diego Costa and midfielder Nemanja Matic have been omitted from Chelsea’s tour squad as they edge closer to transfers away from the club.
In the case of Costa, it’s well documented that Chelsea are ready to sell the striker this summer but a move to Atletico Madrid has stalled due to their transfer ban and the player isn’t keen on a move to China.
Chelsea have allowed Costa to stay in Brazil away from the squad as his future still needs to be sorted out.
Matic, on the other hand, has been deemed expendable by the Blues with the imminent arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco as a like-for-like replacement.
Juventus and Manchester United want to sign the Serbian this summer who has trained on his own all week. Kurt Zouma is also on the no-fly list as a loan move to Stoke edges closer.
