Mario Pasalic set for permanent Chelsea exit

As Chelsea are accustomed to doing these days, many of their young players who just don’t have what it takes to make it at Chelsea will be offloaded, usually for a healthy profit.

One of those players this summer is Mario Pasalic who has enjoyed impressive loan spells at AC Milan and Monaco in recent seasons but it’s clear that Antonio Conte doesn’t see a future for the midfielder at Stamford Bridge, despite including him in the squad for the tour of the Far East.

Italian source TMW have noted that interest in Pasalic is mounting, with Galatasaray reportedly leading Lazio and Red Bull Leipzig in the race to sign the young Croatian.

The 22-year-old cost Chelsea just £3m in the summer of 2014 from Hajduk Split but it’s believed that they are seeking a fee in the region of £6.6m to sell the player – over double what they paid for him despite never making a first-team Chelsea appearance.

Chelsea have already welcomed Tiemoue Bakayoko to the club this summer and youngster Lewis Baker is being looked at for a first-team role next season as well, making Pasalic expendable.
