Chelsea set sights on Mendy and Llorente after Morata deal

Chelsea have now turned their attention to signing Benjamin Mendy from French club AS Monaco and Fernando Llorente from fellow Premier League club Swansea City after they completed the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

The Blues are happy with signing Morata but manager Antonio Conte is still pursuing his transfer targets.

Monaco full-back Mendy is high on the Italian’s list as he looks to add a wing-back before the start of the new Premier League season. Mendy is also being pursued by Manchester City who had an offer of £44.5m rejected by the Ligue 1 side.

Mendy is open to a move to the Premier League but it remains to be seen if he chooses Manchester or London as his next destination.

Conte is also keen to improve his attack and wants a backup striker to Morata, with Llorente being the man he desires.

The big Spanish forward was a key figure for Swansea as they escaped relegation to the Championship and it was his goals which helped them to do so.

The striker is reportedly open to a move to Stamford Bridge but Swansea are refusing to sell the player who was also subject to interest from the Blues in January.

Conte is keen to strengthen all areas before attempting to successfully defend his Premier League crown as well as challenge in the UEFA Champions league next season.
