Pedro suffers ‘multiple fractures’ in collision with Ospina

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed that Spanish winger Pedro has suffered “multiple fractures” following his collision with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina during the Blues’ 3-0 friendly win, according to the Mirror’s Darren Lewis.

The Spaniard was recklessly challenged by Ospina and it looked to be only a concussion which he suffered but Conte has now confirmed that it is much more serious than that.

The Italian himself thought it was a concussion, but now states that it may take Pedro up to ten days to recover from the injury.

Conte reveals that he is not angry at the Arsenal shot-stopper for the challenge and is prepared to let the incident slide and move on after his side’s impressive win, with Batshuayi grabbing a brace and Willian scoring once.

The manager has shown his faith in Pedro throughout his time at Chelsea and he was one of the key players as Blues stormed to the Premier League title last season.

The 29-year-old managed to find the back of the net nine times last season and started 26 league games last season as he became Conte’s preferred winger over Willian.

The Spaniard also showed his creative side as he set up a goal nine times last season. And Conte is hoping for a full recovery as soon as possible so he can begin preparing for the new season as Pedro looks set to partner compatriot Alvaro Morata in attack.
