The future of Diego Costa has been clear for some time: Antonio Conte doesn’t want him and is keen to see him leave, but it’s easier said than done.
With just over a month left of the transfer window, the Spaniard isn’t even remotely close to leaving after former club Atletico Madrid were handed a transfer ban, but AC Milan are ready to step up their efforts to sign him.
Italian news outlet Calciomercato say that Milan are to make a concrete offer to sign Costa, but only if he commits his future to the Serie A club.

Costa had his heart set on a return to Atletico Madrid prior to their transfer ban and is open to a loan move until the January transfer window opens up and Atletico can sign the striker, but Milan want him on a permanent basis and more importantly, want him for the long-term.
Chelsea have moved on from Costa with the £70m signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, but are eager to see him leave in order to free up wages for potential new arrivals.
