Chelsea close in on Candreva deal

The summer window has been a success for Chelsea already but they are now closing in on Inter Milan’s Antonio Candreva according to the Daily Star.

The Premier League champions have been in talks with the Italian for the last few weeks and it seems a £17.5m transfer is very close to being finalised. Having already completed the signings of Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata, the 30-year-old could be the fifth big name to join Stamford Bridge this summer.

It’s believed manager Antonio Conte is a big admirer of Candreva and wants him playing for Chelsea next season. The Italian international is a versatile player, being able to play in a number of positions that could see him easily slot into the starting line-up for the Blues.

He was a massive part of Inter Milan’s team last season featuring in all 38 Serie A games, grabbing 6 goals and 11 assists. Considering the fee for the 30-year-old is believed to be £17.5m, this seems like a good price and yet another international star will look to join Chelsea’s ranks.

As for rivals Man Utd, this could mean they miss out on their target Ivan Perisic as Inter Milan will not want to lose two of their biggest stars.
