Chelsea face Arsenal in the FA Community Shield on Sunday with both teams hoping to start their respective seasons with a trophy and a win over their rivals.
Chelsea booked their spot in the season’s traditional curtain raiser by lifting the Premier League title. Antonio Conte guided the Blues to their fifth league title in 12 years, in what was his first season at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal confirmed a spot in the Community Shield by winning the FA Cup, beating Chelsea in the final. A late winner from Aaron Ramsey gave Arsenal their 13th FA Cup win.
Both clubs met recently in pre-season, playing at the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing. Chelsea ran out as 3-0 winners. Willian and a Michy Batshuayi double helped Chelsea towards a comfortable win in China.
