Chelsea want to add another wing-back to their squad this summer but face competition to land Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto.
According to Spanish source Don Balon, both Manchester United and Monaco are looking to sign Roberto this summer but they and Chelsea will have to meet the player’s £36.2m release clause in full if they wish to sign him.
The Mirror claim that United have launched a bid in the region of £36m to sign the Spaniard this summer after having an initial approach turned down by the La Liga club, say Mundo Deportivo.

Chelsea are monitoring his situation after seeing a move for Alex Sandro stall with Juventus adamant that the left back will not leave this summer.
Roberto can play in midfield but has made a name for himself at right back for Barcelona after Aleix Vidal got injured.
The 25-year-old is coveted by Barcelona but they are powerless if a club agrees to pay his release clause.
