Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker is set to sign for Championship side Middlesbrough on a two-year loan, according to the Northern Echo.
The report claims that Baker is poised to join Middlesbrough on loan in the coming days after Chelsea decided to let the youngster leave on loan.
Chelsea have let a number of their young players depart the club on loan this summer, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham – who play for England’s under-21 side alongside Baker.
Middlesbrough midfielder Marten De Roon is set to join Atalanta for €15m, just one year after the sold him to the English outfit for €10m.
Baker is now set to replace De Roon and anchor Middlesbrough’s midfield as they look to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The midfield impressed last season on a season-long loan to Dutch side Vitesse and has been an integral part of England’s youth sides for many years now.
