Chelsea have turned their attention towards Southampton right-back Cedric Soares, according to the Telegraph.
The Blues are still keen to do some more business before the window slams shut at the end of the month, and Cedric is a name that Antonio Conte appears to have on his wish list.
Cedric is a full Portugal international, and was a key part of the squad that went on to win Euro 2016 last summer. He has since kicked on in Southampton colours and established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.
Conte is understood to be keen on strengthening his back-line further, and he is specifically looking to bolster his wing-back options, given the lack of cover and competition for Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses on either flank.
However, with the report suggesting that Chelsea would be reluctant to pay more than £15m for Cedric’s services, it’s unlikely that they will cough up Southampton’s asking price, which is likely to be significantly higher.
