Chelsea ready to double Danny Rose’s wages

Tottenham left-back Danny Rose has emerged as a top target for Chelsea in recent weeks, and the England international has also been linked with Manchester United of late.

Rose gave an interview critiquing Spurs’ transfer strategy and wage structure recently, only fuelling links with a move away to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Valued at £50m, Spurs are reluctant to let the left-back go this summer, especially to Chelsea, as they look to build on last season’s success in the Premier League after the finished as runners-up to the Blues.

In order to persuade the unhappy 27-year-old to join the club, Chelsea are ready to double Rose’s £65,000-a-week wages, which would shatter the wage structure in place in North London.

Tottenham have revived interest in Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, with some reports claiming they’ve seen a £25m bid rejected, which could mean they are preparing for life after Rose.

With Chelsea desperate for defensive additions after shipping three to Burnley on the opening day, they could well pay over the odds to make sure Rose comes through the doors at Stamford Bridge.

Southampton pair Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand are both on Chelsea’s shortlist for fullback additions, as is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but Liverpool are also interested in the Arsenal star.
