Leicester put £40m price tag on Danny Drinkwater

Leicester City will demand that Chelsea fork out £40million if they want to sign Danny Drinkwater, according to a report from Matt Law of the Telegraph.

The Blues are looking for a replacement having sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United and the Foxes will be looking for a similar fee for Drinkwater to the one that Chelsea received for the Serbian.

According to the report, Chelsea were lining up a £25million bid for the 27-year-old but Leicester have acted quickly to get the message out there that they will not sell any of their players on the cheap.

AS Roma are already well aware of Leicester’s hardline stance on player sales due to their pursuit of Riyad Mahrez and it looks like the former Premier League champions will use a similar tactic on the current title holders.

Chelsea have told Antonio Conte that they will make at least three new signings before the transfer window closes but as that date gets ever-nearer, prices are only going to increase.
