After seeing a fresh £73m bid turned down by Juventus for Alex Sandro this week, Chelsea have turned their attentions to another full-back target.
Italian source Corriere dello Sport claim that the Blues have made an offer to Southampton for Cedric Soares.
The 25-year-old has impressed at St. Mary’s over the last two seasons and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, but the likes of Barcelona and Juventus are tracking him.
Valued at just €15m (£13.6m), Soares was part of the Portugal side that won Euro 2016 last year and is held in high regard at Southampton who aren’t looking to offload any of their key players including Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand, both of whom are reported Chelsea targets.

While Chelsea’s offer hasn’t been disclosed, they won’t struggle to meet Southampton’s reported asking price for Soares, which looks like a bargain when compared to some of the deals made this summer already.
Antonio Conte is a big fan of Soares but will need to act fast if he wants to beat Barcelona and Juventus to his signature. The Blues remain interested in Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
