Chelsea keen on Gueye move

Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

According to the Daily Mail today, the Blues are making contingency plans in case they fail to land Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City.

Antonio Conte wants to sign another central midfielder to bolster his options for the season ahead, and it looks as though signing Drinkwater is a priority of his.

However, it’s claimed by the Daily Mail that Conte will also ponder a move for Gueye if Leicester continue to demand an astronomical fee for their England international. The Foxes are demanding a huge sum of £40 million for the former Manchester United man, and Chelsea are unwilling to pay the full extent of their valuation.

So, they could very well turn their attention towards Senegal international Gueye, who has been a vital cog in Everton’s side since his move from Aston Villa last summer.

Chelsea have also been linked with Grzegorz Krychowiak, who is free to leave PSG this month.
