Everton are set to hijack Chelsea’s move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, according to the Mirror.
The report claims that Chelsea are in talks over a deal for the forward but Everton are looking to hijack the deal and bring him to Merseyside.
Everton and Chelseabelieve that Vardy would be open to the idea of joining the club. The lure of European football this season could be a factor.
Ronald Koeman is a big admirer of the striker and thinks that he would complete his current side, after making a number of other big-name signings this summer.

The club have already smashed the transfer record multiple times this summer, with Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Gylfi Sigurdsson all joining for big money.
But Antonio Conte is also keen on signing the England international to bolster his attack. This is despite breaking Chelsea’s record to sign Alvaro Morata for £70m from Real Madrid.
Vardy is thought to be valued at £40m by Leicester.
