The Serie A club would only sanction Zappacosta’s sale so late in the window if a replacement can be lined up and brought in before the window closes.

Torino signed Zappacosta from Atalanta for £3.9 million back in 2015 and the 25-year-old has impressed during his time at the club, making 58 appearances, scoring twice and assisting in six goals, earning four Italian caps in the process.
Chelsea have tried and failed to bring in Alex Sandro from Juventus this summer but Antonio Conte does have extensive knowledge of the Italian market and clearly feels that Zappacosta would be a worthwhile addition to his squad, whether a deal can be done in the next few hours remains to be seen.
