Kenedy and Baba Rahman wanted by Galatasaray

As usual, Chelsea were looking to offload a number of players either on loan or on permanent transfers during the summer window but sometimes, deals aren’t always agreed.

Two players that were heavily linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge were versatile left-winger Kenedy and left-back Baba Rahman.

Kenedy, who was sent home from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the Far East after making inappropriate comments on social media, was touted for a loan move to Newcastle but the Blues pulled the plug after missing out on potential replacements including Antonio Candreva.

Baba Rahman spent last season on loan with Schalke but suffered a severe knee injury in January which ended his season but the Bundesliga club wanted to bring him back for a second loan spell but concerns over his fitness saw Schalke back out of a potential loan deal.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik (h/t TalkSport), the Turkish transfer window does not shut until Friday and Galatasaray are interested in both players and are holding talks to sign one of them on loan.

It’s claimed that Rahman is the preferred target of the two but Galatasaray will pursue Kenedy should they fail to secure Rahman’s signature.

Both players are considered the backup options to Marcos Alonso at left wing-back and Chelsea will allow one to leave this summer and the other will remain in the first-team squad.
