Chelsea are interested in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Atakan Akkaynak, according to Goal.
The report claims that Chelsea are monitoring his progress as they plot a potential swoop for future transfer windows.
The summer transfer window slammed shut last Thursday, with Chelsea adding two more additions on deadline day.
Danny Drinkwater and Davide Zappacosta both joined the club for almost £50m combined.
The report also claims that Roma and Barcelona are tracking Akkaynak and could rival Chelsea to his signature in the future if they did decide to make a move.
The teenager has already captained Germany at youth level and is thought as one of the most promising young players in the country at the moment.
Despite his growing reputation, he is yet to make an appearance for Leverkusen’s first-team, which could tempt him to seek out other clubs who would offer him game-time at senior level.
He is seen as a box-to-box midfielder.
