Chelsea and Huddersfield working to aid Palmer’s recovery

Chelsea and Huddersfield Town are working cooperatively to help Kasey Palmer as he looks to recover from a serious hamstring issue.

The promising midfielder sustained the injury whilst out on international duty with the England Under-21s, and is looking set to miss around two months of action.

Palmer impressed during a short stint with Huddersfield last season, and this resulted in Terriers boss David Wagner making the effort to land him on loan from the Blues again for their maiden Premier League season.

Wagner, as quoted by the Express, has been discussing how Chelsea and Huddersfield have been discussing the best course of action to get Palmer back into action in an efficient fashion.

There have been further discussions now between Chelsea’s medical department and our medical department and another neutral specialist as well.

So he has an injury, a serious injury, maybe not as bad as we thought in the beginning, but I don’t expect him back before six to eight weeks.

The midfielder is held in high regard at Stamford Bridge and a prolonged spell on loan is sure to help his development.

It makes no sense now, where he has so many setbacks with his hamstring, always the same one, to rush something. We need him back consistently.

He started the season in positive fashion for newly-promoted Huddersfield, but the injury comes as a big blow to both Palmer and his loan side.
