Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly set to battle for the signature of Genoa youngster Pietro Pellegri.
According to reports in Italy, as cited by Metro today, the Blues are one of several top European sides expressing an interest in signing the hugely promising forward.
Pellegri, who is just 17-years-old, has started the season in superb fashion for Genoa. The exciting prospect came off the bench in his side’s contest against Lazio and although they were defeated on the day, Pellegri hit the net twice.
The report claims that Pellegri’s agent is currently in England, which has led to the rumours of a move to Chelsea intensifying.
Manchester United are also cited with interest by Metro, but both Premier League outfits face intense competition from clubs in Pellegri’s homeland. It’s claimed that both AC Milan and Juventus are also interested in acquiring the Italy Under-17 international.
Pellegri will now look to build on what was a hugely impressive display against Lazio for the rest of the season.
