Andrea Pirlo has heaped the praise on Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
The New York City FC midfielder confirmed that he will be hanging up his playing boots at the end of the MLS season in December, and has been discussing his career with the media.
Pirlo, who worked under Conte during the pair’s spell in the Italian national team and at Juventus, has waxed lyrical about his former boss, and claimed that he is up there with the very best in the world.
As quoted by Goal, Pirlo discussed the meticulous approach that has made Conte so successful throughout his managerial career so far.
His attention to detail is impressive. One of his 20-minute video sessions is worth three days on the training ground. You immediately understand what it is you have to do.
He is one of the best, absolutely.
The 38-year-old enjoyed some of his best years under Conte at Serie A giants Juventus, where the pair enjoyed lots of success.
Conte will now hope that he can prove himself once more this season, as he looks to retain the Premier League title with the Blues.
