Chelsea set to battle with Serie A duo over Federico Chiesa
Chelsea are ready to battle with Italian Serie A clubs Napoli and Inter Milan for the signature of highly rated Fiorentina right winger Federico Chiesa, according to a report on Team Talk, who quote Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport.
The 19-year-old is considered to be one of the best young talents in Italy and has been tipped for a very bright future.
His club Fiorentina have already valued the teenager at €40m but they are adamant that they will not sell Chiesa yet.
Chelsea have registered their interest and will face a difficult task to lure the winger away from the Serie A at such a young age.
Chiesa has already netted twice this season in the Italian top flight and his value will only continue to rise if he keeps up his impressive form throughout the course of the season.
Napoli’s president claims that he made an official approach for Chiesa a few weeks ago but at the moment, Fiorentina are not open to any negotiations as they have already sold one of their star product Federico Bernadeschi to Italian champions Juventus.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be hoping that their shared Italian descent will convince the youngster to move to Stamford Bridge.
