Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to add firepower to his attack and has targeted Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke and is weighing up a move for the Belgian in the January transfer window, according to a report on the Daily Star.
The Italian is still upset after losing out on Spanish forward Fernando Llorente to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte’s side struggled in attack without summer signing Alvaro Morata against Crystal Palace and suffered a shock 2-1 loss.

The manager wants to ensure that if Morata picks up another injury that he has adequate cover, after Michy Batshuayi failed to seize his chance to lead the line for the Blues.
Benteke made a bad start to the campaign as Palace failed to score a single goal until their win against Conte’s men, and the striker is currently out of action after picking up a knee injury.
Benteke has a contract with the Eagles which runs until the summer of 2020 so it could prove to be difficult for the Blues to convince Palace to sell their star striker.
However, Chelsea boss Conte is desperate to sign a striker and is willing to offer a large sum to ensure that he brings in a proven goalscorer.
