Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will look to make a major addition to his squad in January and he is targeting a shock move for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, according to reports in Spain.
Armed with a large transfer kitty topped up after Diego Costa’s sale to Atletico Madrid, Conte is hoping to sign another forward player having missed out on a number of targets in the summer and it appears that Bale is on his radar.
The Welshman, despite scoring 70 goals in 159 games for the reigning European champions, is falling out of favour in Madrid and is often criticised by their fans.
The emergence of Marco Asesnio and the amazing form of Isco have put Bale’s place as a regular starter in doubt and there are suggestions that he could be heading back to the Premier League.
If Bale does become available, Manchester United would be the favourites to sign him but Chelsea look like they too would make a move for the Welsh star.
