Morata: I would sign a 10-year deal at Chelsea

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has allayed fears that he is unhappy at the club, as reported by the Telegraph.

Quotes from the Spanish international emerged earlier on Monday, suggesting that Morata is struggling to come to terms with living in London, and is under too much stress by living in England’s capital.

However, the ex-Real Madrid man has been quick to ease the fears that he could seek a quick exit from the club, and has even gone as far as saying that if Chelsea were to offer him a new 10-year contract, he’d be more likely than not to accept it.

We had a problem of understanding in this interview. If Chelsea proposed me 10 years I’d probably sign that too. I’m happy with this club, in this city, with everything in London.

I really like London and, probably, if I make good and improve, probably I can stay here more than five years. But I need to score many goals otherwise Chelsea will buy another player. It’s normal.

Morata has enjoyed a positive start to life in the Premier League. He enjoyed a blistering start to the campaign and although he has not been on top form since returning from a hamstring injury, is still impressing.

The striker will now hope to help Chelsea to another important result in the Champions League this week, when they take on Roma.
