Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has hailed the club’s win over Manchester United as important.
The Spaniard says that it was important to claim the three points against their rivals as they looked to close the gap on the top-two.
The win now sees Chelsea just a point behind Manchester United in the Premier League table.
Although, Manchester City are still nine points clear of Antonio Conte’s men at the top of the table.
As quoted by Goal, Morata said this:
It is important that we won. We had a very good chance today to come back to winning ways.
We are happy now with the international break we can go with three points.
Morata scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The former Real Madrid forward headed home in the second half to win the game for Chelsea, his eighth for the club.
He has now contributed to ten goals (seven goals and three assists) in nine Premier League starts for the club this season.
Signed from Real Madrid in the summer for a club-record fee, Morata is starting to prove his worth to Chelsea,
