Tammy Abraham determined to break into the Chelsea squad

Tammy Abraham has set his sights on breaking into Chelsea’s first-team squad next season, Sky Sports report.

The young striker is currently out on loan to Swansea City, and has been in good form for the Swans so far this season. Despite Paul Clement’s side’s recent struggles, Abraham has netted four goals in 10 games as he continues to gain experience of the Premier League.

Although Abraham is remaining focused on the task at hand, keeping Swansea in the Premier League, he spoke of his ambitions to become a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge.

My main focus is Swansea but pushing on, my main target is to be in that Chelsea squad. It’s not going to be easy, you look at the players that are there, but you have to keep pushing and keep working as hard as you can. I want to show the world what I’m truly made of.

Abraham received his first ever senior call-up to the England National Team last week, and is hopeful of featuring for Gareth Southgate’s men in the upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil.

Of course it will be difficult. You’re playing in one of the best leagues in the world. In the Premier League you’re playing against some of the best defenders in the world but it’s nice for me to have that competition.

Gareth (Southgate) is a manager who likes to bring up young talent and that gives us a lot of confidence.

The 20-year-old is making good progress at the Liberty Stadium and if he continues to perform well up top for the Swans, is sure to come back to Stamford Bridge a much improved player.
