Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has seen his break with Belgium cut short because of a foot injury, the Evening Standard reports.
The forward joined up with the Belgium squad ahead of their upcoming friendlies, but has been forced to pull out with a knock.
Batshuayi has made his way back to Chelsea in order to get his foot assessed, and to ensure that no further damage is inflicted.
The ex-Marseille man has come under fire this season for some underwhelming displays, namely when Alvaro Morata was absent with a hamstring injury. However, he has still made a contribution, and Antonio Conte will hope that his backup forward’s injury is not too serious.
Batshuayi will miss Belgium’s games against Japan and Mexico, but will be keen to be back in action for the Blues when the international break comes to its conclusion.
Chelsea lack depth up top, and Batshuayi’s fitness is sure to be key to them.
