David Moyes denies West Ham interest in Michy Batshuayi

Despite netting 17 goals in 50 appearances for Chelsea since his £33m arrival from Marseille 18 months ago, Michy Batshuayi has never fully earned the trust of Antonio Conte.

The Belgian striker is likely to be offloaded by the Blues this month to pave the way for a new centre-forward more akin to what Conte wants in a striker, but it appears as if he won’t be ending up at West Ham.

Hammers boss David Moyes was spotted at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night during Chelsea’s FA Cup third round replay against Norwich where Batshuayi netted in what was a pretty poor display from the Belgian, but Moyes has told the media he was not looking at the striker.

I don’t think people should make an awful lot of it, I go to a lot of games. I’m a football supporter as well as a manager.

We never said we were interested in him (Batshuayi). We try not to talk about players at other clubs because I’m there to watch a game and wasn’t necessarily there to watch anyone individually.

West Ham tried and failed to land Batshuayi  prior to him joining Chelsea and have continued to be linked with loan moves for the striker, who is also a reported target for Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund.
