Hazard laments father for Real Madrid comments

The future of Eden Hazard is spoken near enough every transfer window since the Belgian joined the club for £32m from Lille back in 2012, but the attacker himself has had his say on where his future lies.

Back in December, Eden’s father told the media that his son was to reject any potential contract offers from Chelsea as he was waiting for an offer to complete a dream move to Real Madrid, but the 27-year-old says those claims are wide of the mark.

Hazard has reaffirmed that he remains committed to Chelsea until the end of the season when he will reassess his situation.

I talked to him [Dad] about it. He said some bad things, I’m only focused on Chelsea. There are two years left on my contract and I’m happy here. I’ve already said 10 times that I want to finish this season and then we’ll see.

The winger has rediscovered his best form for the Blues this season, netting 11 goals and providing eight assists in 31 appearances across all competitions and he remains a vital part of Antonio Conte’s side.

Under contract until 2020, Hazard’s long-term future remains a concern for Chelsea going forward with Real Madrid clearly keen, but that is a bridge the Blues will have to cross at a later date.
