PSG ahead of Chelsea in race to sign Alex Sandro

In the summer transfer window and the recent January window, Chelsea made an attempt to bring in Alex Sandro from Juventus but the Serie A giants denied the left-back a lucrative move to the Premier League.

The Brazilian is regarded as one of the premiere left-backs in world football and Antonio Conte was desperate to sign him to provide competition to Marcos Alonso on the left-side of the defence.

Chelsea were forced to move for their alternative target, Roma’s Emerson Palmieri who signed in a £26m deal last month, but it’s believed that they are still interested in signing Sandro in the summer should Juventus’ stance change.

However, Chelsea do face competition for his signature as Calciomercato report that Ligue 1 leaders PSG are currently leading the race to sign the fullback in the summer.

Juventus have failed to persuade Sandro to sign an improved contract with the club, and his current deal is due to expire in 2020.

PSG held talks to sign the defender in the summer and are believed to be ready to revive their interest when the next transfer window opens. Juventus want a fee in excess of €50m for the defender who is also a target for Manchester United.
