Chelsea target Vidal expresses desire to stay at Bayern

Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing Bayern Munich star Arturo Vidal to bolster their midfield in the summer but the midfielder has had his say on his future.

Vidal himself hinted that a summer move could be on the cards for him when last month he revealed he will wait and see what happens after this season, and both Chelsea and Manchester United are keen to sign the Chilean who is valued at £53m.

Bayern are reportedly prepared to sell the former Juventus star with Leon Goretzka coming in from Schalke and Max Meyer potentially following suit, but according to Sport1, Vidal himself has said that he hopes to extend his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

I play in this team for a reason, and I’m certainly one of the world’s best in my position for a reason, I do not think about a change, I feel really good here. Of course I would like to extend. This is an option and my children are very happy here.

Chelsea’s £40m investment in Tiemoue Bakayoko hasn’t quite gone to plan and the Blues are looking to improve in the midfield so they can mount a stronger challenge for the Premier League title next season.
