Chelsea are understood to have taken an interest in signing AS Roma star Alessandro Florenzi, according to reports in Italy.
The Blues are being linked with a move for the full-back, who has been in impressive form for his side over the course of the last couple of seasons in Serie A.
Florenzi is predominantly a right-sided full-back but has experience of playing in a more advanced role, perhaps making him a perfect fit in Antonio Conte’s wing-back oriented system.
Chelsea are well stocked with wide defensive options, with Victor Moses and Davide Zappacosta both in contention out on the right wing.
However, should an opportunity arise for Chelsea to secure Florenzi’s services, it’s stated that the Blues are keen to add him to their ever-growing squad in the summer.
This may not be a plausible option for the Blues, though, with recent reports claiming that Florenzi is close to putting pen to paper on an extended contract with Roma.
Juventus are also reported to be interested in Florenzi.
