Gareth Bale eager to complete summer Chelsea move

Gareth Bale continues to be linked with a return to the Premier League amid claims his time in Madrid is almost up and the Welshman is understood to be eyeing a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Spanish source Don Balon claim that Bale has made joining Chelsea his preference if Real Madrid decide the time has come to offload him.

Injuries have held Bale back in recent seasons, limiting him to just 13 La Liga starts so far this campaign and Madrid are said to be growing increasingly frustrated by the 28-year-old’s frequently lay-offs.

Madrid are said to be looking to recoup the €100m they spent on the former Tottenham star back in 2013 and Chelsea are the winger’s preferred destination by all accounts.

Bale is understood to have informed Cristiano Ronaldo of his desire to return to the Premier League with Chelsea if he is indeed forced out of the club.

Don Balon also reported that the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are interested in signing the player in the summer as well, while both Manchester United and Tottenham are also keen on bringing him back to the Premier League.
