Chelsea plotting €135m bid for Marco Asensio
Chelsea will likely invest heavily in their squad in the summer and they’re being linked with club-record move for unsettled Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio.
According to Don Balon, the blues are preparing to offer an incredible €135m for the Spain international, which would become a British transfer record surpassing the £89m Manchester United spent on re-signing Paul Pogba nearly two years ago.
The 22-year-old creative midfielder broke into the Madrid first-team last season after an impressive loan spell at Espanyol and has netted 20 goals in 77 career appearances for Los Blancos.
However, Asensio has been in and out of the starting line-up under Zinedine Zidane, starting just 13 La Liga games this season and the young attacker is unhappy with his playing time at the moment and is considering his future.
Real Madrid are planning a major squad overhaul in the summer and could cash-in on the unhappy attacker in order to fund moves for other players.
Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked with a move for the former Mallorca standout.
