Chelsea have made a €63m offer for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to reports.
Italian journalist Fernando Czyz reports that Chelsea have contracted Icardi’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, with the bid and have asked her to take it to Inter Milan.
It is highly unlikely that Inter would accept such a bid for their captain and talisman, and Chelsea are apparently aware of this but want to make it known that they have a firm interest in the player.
The 25-year-old is widely acknowledged as one of the best forwards in Europe at the moment. He’s scored 22 goals in Serie A this season, in just 24 games, including a four goal masterclass against Sampdoria last weekend.
Milan are set to ask for at leat €100m for their captain before they even consider letting him move, so if Chelsea are truly keen on signing him, that’s the type of fee they’d need to pay.
They can raise some funds by selling Michy Batshuayi, who is performing well at Borussia Dortmund, but they’d still need to stump up a lot of cash to acquire the Argentinian star.
