Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has been sent home from his international duties with the Danish national side due to a fresh injury concern.
The 21-year-old, who was substituted during the recent FA Cup win over Leicester City, was originally deemed fit to represent his country in their two friendly games but he’s now been sent back to Stamford Bridge.
When asked why Christensen was no longer with the squad, Denmark manager Age Hareide said:
Andreas Christensen has been sent home to London. We do not want to take any risks with him. I cannot say exactly what is wrong with Christensen, but it is a little fatigue. It’s not serious, but it can be. It is a bit frustrating because we would have liked to trial him in both central defence and as a defensive midfielder.

It is believed that the young defender has a slight groin strain and although he was keen to play for his country, common sense prevailed and he was sent back to Chelsea for treatment.
The Blues will now be looking to get the Danish defender back fit for the game with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge next weekend.
