Chelsea line up a bid for Anthony Martial

Chelsea have added Manchester United forward Anthony Martial to their list of summer targets, according to the Daily Mail.

Owner Roman Abramovich looks set for yet another summer of big spending as he looks to improve the Chelsea squad for next season.

Abramovich will not be happy after a thoroughly disappointing title defence, which now sees his side sitting outside of the top four.

The Blues will have to find new ways of funding big transfers in order to keep within the financial fair play restrictions.

They do, however, have plenty of assets at their disposable, with Michy Batsuayi reportedly worth £50 million after impressing in the Bundesliga, and winger Kennedy is a £20 million target for Newcastle.

The West London club are looking to bolster their attacking options and Martial is one of their top targets.

The Frenchman is looking for a move away from Old Trafford as he looks to regain his form and find regular playing time.

Manchester United paid up to £58 million for Martial three years ago and they are unlikely to recoup all of that fee, as Martial has flattered to deceive at times in the Premier League.

Juventus and Tottenham have also declared their interest in the 22-year-old winger, so Chelsea will have plenty of competition for his signature.
