Morata pushing for Juventus return

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is pushing for a return to former club Juventus, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Morata moved to the Blues last summer for a £60 million, but has failed to impress and has become more accustomed to the bench rather than the pitch in recent weeks.

15 goals in all competitions from 46 appearances have failed to impress Chelsea fans, with only three of those coming in 2018 following a strong start to the season.

The Spanish international signed for Juventus from Real Madrid in 2014 but after two seasons, Madrid used a buy-back clause for him to return to the Bernabeu.

During his time in Serie A Morata had lots of success, winning the title twice and reaching the Champions League final, where he scored the equaliser in an eventual 3-1 loss to Barcelona.

Morata has previously stated he was reluctant to leave Italy two years ago, so a return there would make sense for him.

Chelsea would want to recoup as much of the fee they paid as possible, allowing them to reinvest on a new striker this summer.
