Luis Enrique’s hopes of landing the Chelsea job have been given a boost after Maurizio Sarri held talks with Napoli.
According to the Telegraph, Sarri is now expected to sign a new contract after a meeting with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Wednesday, was reported to have gone well.
He had been the leading candidate for the Chelsea job a few months ago.
Luis Enrique is potentially the only serious candidate left for the run in for the post.
It is believed that Chelsea will assess the Sarri situation further before making a decision to move forward.
According to the Telegraph, however, the issue Chelsea may face is whether or not they will have to pay Antonio Conte the full £9 million to sack him.

Reports about Conte’s future have been speculated in recent weeks and many expect his departure to be announced after the FA Cup final meeting with Manchester United.
The Telegraph say that the Italian has stood firm and will only go if he is sacked.
It had been hoped that a mutual split might be agreed with Conte walking straight into another job.
There are suggestions that Conte could take a year off and collect his full compensation.
Sarri is due to hold more talks with Napoli over the next 24 hours and the outcome of his negotiations could impact Chelsea’s plans.
