Whilst it has been reported that Napoli star Jorginho is close to completing a move to Manchester City, his agent has revealed that Chelsea are still hoping to sign him this summer.
Despite the Blues still having one more game left to play this season – the FA Cup final – the transfer window is already open and plenty of work is going on behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
Man City are confident about getting a deal for Jorginho over the line, but they are facing competition from three other Premier League sides, one of whom is Chelsea.
Speaking on Radio CRC earlier today, Joao Santos, the Italian’s agent, denied reports that other Serie A clubs had been in contact with him, but revealed that he’s spoken to four English sides. He said:
I am in Brazil. No one has called me from Italy. But I’ve been called by Liverpool, Manchester City, also Arsenal and Chelsea.
City still seem like the favourites to get a deal completed but Chelsea seemingly have hope of getting the Italian to ignore their advances and instead make the switch to London.
