Thibaut Courtois has had talks with PSG over a potential summer move
Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has had talks with PSG over a potential summer move, according to a report from Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur.
Terreur claims that Courtois held talks with PSG’s director of football in London and is also adamant that the Belgian won’t sign a new contract to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Terreur told the Transfer Talk podcast:
He has held talks with PSG. PSG’s director of football has been in London to talk about the project with Courtois. He could go back to Atletico Madrid if Jan Oblak leaves. At the moment I don’t see him signing a new deal with Chelsea unless he doesn’t get his transfer.
The 26-year old has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup since his return to Stamford Bridge in 2014.
He has also established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
But his future at the club remains uncertain, with further reports suggesting he has refused to commit his future at the club.
Courtois himslef has already suggested that his future at the club will depend on how active the club are in the transfer window.
We’ll see after the World Cup whether I am a Chelsea player for next year. You see how Manchester City and Manchester United are spending and working. If we want to aim for the top, we should do the same – obviously within the limits of what’s possible. We’ll see what’s going on and I am sure the board will do what needs to be done.
