Chelsea can soon step up their chase for Maurizio Sarri after Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly signed a deal with Napoli, according to football.london.
Sarri is the current Napoli manager but looks increasingly likely to leave after not signing a new contract.
The Italian club have grown impatient and talks with Carlo Ancelotti have stepped up, with him meeting club president Aurelio De Laurentiis this week and reportedly signing a deal.
This would mean Sarri would be available for free, and with Chelsea keen on appointing him, they will likely snap at the chance to.
Despite winning the FA Cup, Antonio Conte still looks likely to leave the club.
Conte is said to have fallen out with the clubs’ hierarchy as well as a number of players: Willian even edited Conte out of a trophy celebration picture that he posted on Instagram last weekend.
It would cost an estimated £9 million for Chelsea to oust Conte, but with Sarri appearing likely to be available for free then the Blues would be unlikely to hesitate on paying the fee.
Sarri would be a strong appointment at Stamford Bridge having finished no lower than third in the league in his three years at Napoli.
