Laurent Blanc leads race for Chelsea managerial role

According to Calcio Mercato, former PSG manager Laurent Blanc is the front-runner to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

For a long time, it looked likely that Napoli manager, Maurizio Sarri, would become the next Chelsea manager, but with Roman Abramovich being put off by Napoli’s asking price and Sarri’s questionable behaviour, it looks like Blanc could become The Blues’ new boss.

Also, with Zinedine Zidane unexpectedly leaving Real Madrid after his third consecutive Champions League win with the club, Sarri is looking likely to join Los Blancos.

Blanc may not be Chelsea’s first choice, but he has a great managerial record in France, with his first spell being at Bordeaux, where he won two French Super Cups, Ligue 1 and the French League Cup.

He then joined PSG in 2013 after a spell in charge of the French national team. He won many trophies for the French giants, including Ligue 1, the French League Cup and the French Super Cup three times, as well as winning the French Cup twice.
