Davide Zappacosta set for move to Inter Milan

Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta has opened negotiations with Inter Milan over a possible move to the Italian side this summer, according to a report on Sky Sports.

The wing-back has only been at the London club for one full season but it is understood that the Blues are willing to let him go if the offer is right.

Chelsea are hoping to get around £17.5m for the defender and his agent has already held meetings with Inter Milan representatives.

Zappacosta’s contract with Chelsea runs until 2021 but Inter are desperate to sign him ahead of the new season.

The Italian joined Chelsea from Italian side Torino and is open to returning back to the Serie A.

Zappacosta played 22 times in the Premier League last season and if Chelsea can’t get the desired amount of money from selling him, then they will consider sending him out on a season-long loan to Inter, with the option to buy him after the loan.

He is well known for his attacking play rather than his defensive work and with Inter qualifying for the Champions League next season, they need depth in their squad.
