Hazard’s father contacts Real Madrid to sound out summer move

Eden Hazard’s father reportedly offered the player to Real Madrid prior to their Champions League victory against Liverpool in Kyiv.

According to Marca, Thierry Hazard contacted the European heavyweights to sound out their interest in a deal this summer.

The report claims that Hazard believes the lack of Champions League football at Stamford Bridge signals the end of his time in the Premier League.

Hazard, who is reportedly valued at £105 million, has been a long-term target for Madrid and is viewed as a possible replacement for Gareth Bale, should the Welshman leave the club.

There had been some suggestions that Madrid’s interest in Hazard could soften following the departure of Zinedine Zidane, who was a huge admirer of the player.

Hazard had made it no secret that he wanted to work with the Frenchman, who was his boyhood idol.

Chelsea will be hoping that they can keep hold of Hazard and will be doing all they can to convince him to remain at Stamford Bridge.
