The Blues have sanctioned the transfer to allow their hot prospect to gain valuable first-team experience elsewhere, with Ipswich having held talks over a temporary deal last week.
Chalobah, 18, is primarily a central defender and has established himself as one of the club’s most impressive young talents, with a host of clubs having expressed an interest in recruiting him on a season-long loan deal.

However, Championship side Ipswich have fended off competition to land Chalobah as the youngster bids to enjoy a successful spell in the second tier of English football.
Chalobah was a key member in the England Under-19 side that scooped the European Championships title last year and will be looking to further establish himself on the international scene next season.
